Kavita Sawh

At Bennett Midland, Kavita provides support to the NYC Administration for Children’s Services in bolstering the capacity of not-for-profit service providers, following a monumental change in its service delivery model to increase quality and expand access.

Previously, Kavita developed a curriculum to introduce New York City high school students to the field of public health—with the goal of building a stronger public health workforce—as an intern at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. For her honors thesis, Kavita applied qualitative and quantitative research methods to examine how the interaction of race, gender, and healthcare access influences one’s perception of U.S. healthcare quality, using data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). Kavita holds a BA in both Political Science and Economics from the Macaulay Honors College at Queens College (CUNY).
